LICEO DE LUISIANA
The foundation of the Catholic school was first conceived during the time of Rev. Fr. Liborio Castillo with the late Bros. Arsenio Reveche and Juan Oblepias spearheading the project. Then, Mayor Tomas S. Lorico Jr., likewise felt an urgent need for another secondary school and sectarian at that in 1962. But this plan did not materialize.
Because of the willingness of hundreds of parents to enroll their children and a new and catholic school the original plan by Bro. Tomas S. Lorico Jr. with Rev. Fr. Domingo Dolleton, parish priest. The intention was to make this a parochial school. Capital investments were then make by Mrs. Sofia Palad and her son Engr. Isidoro Palad; Mr. and Mrs. Proceso Rondilla, Mrs. Fructousa Orgasan and Rev. Fr. Domingo Dolleton.
Despite of a protracted and continuing oppositions of the officers and stockholders of Luis Bernardo Memorial High School, another private high school in the town, the plan of opening a Catholic school pushed through. They named the school Our Lady of the Rosary Academy. A permit to open a First Year of Business Secondary School was issued on June 1967, paving the way for the operation of the school. However, later during the middle of the School Year the curriculum was changed to Secondary Course with vocational subjects.
Later on, when the Diocese of San Pablo was created, Bishop Pedro N. Bantigue, D.D. decided to place the said school, the Our Lady of the Rosary Academy under the administration and supervision of the Diocesan schools. From School year 1981-1982 this existing catholic school in Luisiana has been known as Liceo de Luisiana.
